My client is having an issue with the Windows version of the screensaver, it requires them to install Apple’s Quicktime software on everyone’s machine. Is it possible to export the screensaver as a WMV file?
iScreensaver Designer 4, when running on Windows, requires video playback to either be from within the QuickTime plugin, or from within the Flash plugin. Although a plain WMV file might be desired, unfortunately that won’t work.
Please see http://iscreensaver.com/requirements.shtml for details.
Having video playback without plugins on Windows is a commonly requested feature that we are working on for the next version.
Thanks for getting back to me on this. I’ve asked my client if they want to try the Flash route…
Thanks,
Lisa
Please note that iScreensaver Designer 5 has been released which addresses this specific issue: no plugins are need to play back high quality modern video formats (such as MP4, M4V, H.264).
