[Solved] Will iScreensaver work for this?

I’d like to create a cross-platform screensaver for vocabulary building, similar to the OS X “Word of the Day” screensaver as seen at: https://vimeo.com/20513146 – the animation is less important than the concept of randomly drawing from a pool of words and definitions.

Would iScreensaver work for creating such a thing? If so, would I be creating an image or video for each word?

iScreensaver might work for this, using a combination of several features:

  1. The Image layer : could hold a background image.
  2. The Overlay / Caption layer: allows you to create a styled text block. This could include your word definition.
  3. The Overlay /Image layer: could contain an optional logo.
  4. The Sequence settings with Shuffle and using the “Resume with previous item”
