The clips when I finally download them to a windows machine are too bright. I think I need to make different versions for each platform but I’m asking what’s the smallest change I ought to make to keep the quality as high as possible. Gamma, exposure, contrast/brightness?
Great question!
Mac and Windows used to use different Gamma settings:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT3712
Recently, both use the same.
There can still be differences in Monitor or Projectors, though.’
Can you say more about your situation?
Yes, Using the exact same video clip to produce the “demo” on the website (emeraldsphere.com) windows/mac machine comparison= pretty close. Same test with iscreensaver= windows7 too bright, washed out and jerky.
Would you please send us an email at support at iscreensaver.com providing us a way to download and test the mac and windows versions?
Please note that iScreensaver Designer 5 has been released which addresses many of these issues: you can now use standard MPEG4 (M4V, MP4, H.264) video files which may address your issues.
Please see http://iscreensaver.com/features5.shtml for a list of new features in version 5.0.
