[Solved] Automatic Sizing ?

Hello Orange, we’ve already answered this question a few times, but the message doesn’t seem to be getting through for some reason. I’ll try again: Yes, ALL editing features related to video sequences are available in the Personal version. Yes, this includes the Random Motion checkbox. Please read our 3rd reply before this one, in which we direct you to the specific page in the documentation. You want to open the Info palette, click the Media tab, open up the Effect section, choose “Dissolve” and then un-check the Random Motion checkbox.

I have NO Info Palette. I asked you a while ago if it were possible that I have a defective download – could that be possible? If so, can I delete or uninstall the program I have, and get another download?

Sorry, now I’m really confused. In your 2nd message you said “I know about the presets”. The presets are on the Info palette, so it stands to reason that you have been using the Info palette already.

If not – have you not actually seen the info palette yet? There are many ways to open it:

While in the video sequence editor:

  • Type Apple-3 (or “Command-3” or “Cloverleaf-3” depending on your keyboard.
  • Right-click the sequence editor and choose Item/Media
  • Click the big “Info” button in the toolbar.
  • From the main “Item” menu, choose “Media”.

Any or all of these will open the Info palette for you.

As to your question about a “defective download”. What version of the software are you using and where did you get it from?

When I type Apple-3, nothing happens. When I right-click the video sequence editor, and choose Item, “Media” is grayed out. When I click the “Info” icon in the tool bar, I get a little window where “Loop” is checked and “Start with first item” is selected.

My software is iScreensaver 4.3.6.348, purchased from the App Store. I use MacOS 10.6.8.

So … do I have a defective copy?

You do not have a defective copy. The behavior you describe will happen when you don’t have any items selected in the sequence editor.

Remember, the Info palette shows information About the selected object(s). You must have some items in the sequence, and select them in order to change their properties.

First, make sure are on the “Video” tab. Next, add one or more pictures to the sequence if you haven’t already. Then, select one (or more) of these items in the sequence editor (shift-click to select multiple items).

Then, you should be able to open the Info palette and select the Media tab using Apple-3, right-clicking, etc.

Also, it sounds like you may have hidden the toolbar on the Info window? Use the little control in the upper-right end of the window (it looks a bit like a “TicTac”) to show the toolbar. You should then have 5 tabs to choose from: Global, Behavior, Media, Caption and Overlay.

It should look something like this picture:

VERY HELPFUL – THANK YOU !

Hello, Can one use the Personal Version to create downloadable, installable MacOs screensavers from a website?

AND, if using the full version, can a user create screensavers that will run on Windows XP and earlier Windows versions, or will they only work on Vista and Windows 7?

Thank you.

No, iScreensaver Personal version may only be used to build screensavers for your one computer.

iScreensaver Designer Pro or Ultimate can build screensavers for both Mac and Windows, with the following system requirements: http://iscreensaver.com/requirements.shtml
