Apple has released QuickTime 7.6.6 today for Mac OS X 10.5 and all versions of Windows
(Note: at this time, there is no 7.6.6 for OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard or OS X 10.4).
We recommend all iScreensaver users on Windows PCs (XP, Vista, Windows 7) upgrade, as QT766 fixes some crasher bugs having to do with movie playback.

Screensaver authors should set the Plugin Version Checking string to “7.6.6” if you are delivering QuickTime content.

FYI: quicktime 7.6.6 is included within the mac os x 10.6.3 update – so if you request “7.6.6” for the quicktime version, this will work. If a person is still using 10.6.2, then they will be directed to the quicktime update site (which may be a little confusing). Apple seems to have made this change (no longer including QuickTime as a separate download for 10.6) at the last minute. We will look into updating our software to behave differently if this trend continues.
