To reduce application size and ensure maximum compatibility, some portions of iScreensaver-created screensavers built with iScreensaver version 6.x contain an Intel (x86-64) binary.
Apple has announced that support for Intel code will be terminated starting with macOS 28, which will likely be released sometime in late 2027.
In the mean time, Apple has added popup messages warning of this transition. These messages show up in macOS 26.4 and later, and macOS 27 (currently in beta).
These messages can be annoying since they are warning about a situation which is more than one year away from happening.
Our plan is to have a version of iScreensaver which fully supports the Apple-Silicon-only macOS 28 before it is released; naturally we can’t fully test this until macOS 28 betas become available, which will likely happen in mid to late 2027.
In the mean time, you can eliminate these messages if you are managing macs that are under MDM (Mobile Device Management).
The MDM settings to use are as follows:
Preference Domain: com.apple.applicationaccess
Key: allowRosettaUsageAwareness
Value: Boolean (set this to false)
